The YearBeyond Libraries Programme offers two streams of work: Youth can work as a ‘Reading Champion’ to help learners develop reading skills or ‘ICT Champion’ to help bridge the digital gaps in your community.
This opportunity requires an 11-month, full-time commitment Mondays to Fridays.
The programme aims to provide 18 to 25 year-olds with a meaningful work experience and a pathway to studies or work.
No qualifications needed, but having a matric certificate would be to your advantage. Applicants must live within a 5km radius of a participating library.
The YeBoneers will be working for the Overstrand libraries in Hawston, Hermanus, Mt Pleasant (which include the community of Zwelihle), Stanford, Gansbaai, Buffeljachts, Exuloxweni and Betty’s Bay. Kleinmond Library is now also part of this programme.
